The P-3 like any other Imported non certified Aircraft, is licensed in the Experimental/Exhibition category

In an effort to minimize confusion, the FAA has determined that exhibition could be a wide range of activities. These include: organized airshows, organized air races, organized fly-in activities, organized exhibitions, youth education events, shopping mall/school/similar static displays, organized acrobatic competition,
And movie or television productions.

Proficiency Area
Group III
Aircraft under 800 HP will have a radius of 300 NM from their designated home base.
You my takeoff and land at any Airport within this area

You may not fly over densely populated areas except for the purpose
of takeoff and landing.

You may not operate the aircraft for compensation or hire.
(No commercial operations)

The aircraft may only be operated for the purpose of exhibition, maintenance
And proficiency

At the beginning of each year,the operator must submit a list of events/airshows
he/she intends to attend (program letter)

Any flights outside the 300 NM radius and not on the program letter,the FAA must be informed in advance by FAX or post card ( Inform,Not ask permission)

The aircraft must be inspected each year in accordance with the scope and detail
of FAR 43 appendix-D (Annual inspection) The inspection must be carried out by an A&P. ( I.A. not required)
